  • Rogue Spend

“We found over $300,000 of office supplies spend that was going to non-contracted suppliers, nearly costing us our negotiated pricing. This alone saved us thousands of dollars.”

  • Fraudulent Spend

“We saw some unusual activity in our analysis and found an employee was taking advantage of our receipt threshold, making tens of thousands of dollars of personal purchases, over years. We’ve let that employee go and updated our policies.”

  • Buyer Behavior

“I was surprised to see how much spend was happening outside of our procurement system. We did some surveys and learned our buyers found it too cumbersome so they would just buy directly from the vendor or go somewhere else”

  • Supplier Consolidation

“We’ve been trying to get our arms around supplier sprawl and this analysis helped us identify a handful of suppliers we could consolidate certain categories of spend to. We’ll do this again in a few months to make sure we’re staying on track.”

  • Mitigating Risk

“IT related purchases are supposed to be routed through our IT team. When they saw how many purchases from IT vendors, including Best Buy, were happening on our PCards, that really caught their attention. The possibility of a breach because someone went outside our IT policies could be costly, not just from potential fines but damage to our reputation.”

  • Fast and Affordable

“We had a six figure proposal from a consultant for a similar analysis that was going to take several weeks. Instead, we spent a fraction of that and got our analysis in less than a week.”

“Everything bad is hiding in our P-Cards.”

…said a Director of Finance at a half billion dollar company.

Working with Finance and Procurement professionals, including Analysts, Card Program Administrators, Buyers, Category Managers, Directors, Controllers, VP’s, CFO’s and CPOs, we found there was some truth to what he said. It wasn’t always bad actors, though.

Most of the time, people are either unaware of certain policies or frustrated or confused by their procurement system. Many times they’re just looking for a better price to save the company a few bucks, so they go to a non-contracted supplier - not realizing that the nuances of a supplier contract often include rebates.

Having put together corporate card analyses for companies from $100M to Billions of dollars in annual revenue, it became clear that more companies needed the insights we were uncovering. Insights like:

  • Contract Leakage

  • Fraudulent Spend

  • Productivity Loss

  • Policy Improvements

  • Training & Communication Gaps

  • Supplier Consolidation Opportunities

  • and Much More

Procurement Intel, and our Corporate Card Spend Analysis, is making these insights available to any business with a corporate card program. You get your results fast, within just a few days, and at an affordable price.

In addition to your analysis, you also receive a video walk through of the data and, if you have any questions, we’re here to answer them.

We thought our employees knew which suppliers they were supposed to buy from. The Corporate Card Spend Analysis helped us see where we had gaps. We’ve since updated how we communicate to our employees about purchasing and spend is heading in the right direction.
The level of detail on the categories was extremely helpful. We saw hundreds of thousands of dollars in rogue spend happening. Our analyst suggested targeted surveys with specific language and the responses helped us renegotiate pricing with a preferred supplier. The ROI from this analysis was nearly immediate.
We knew people left our jobsites to go to Home Depot, Lowes, and the like, but we didn’t realize it was thousands of hours a year lost just from store runs. We were able to identify which projects had the most store runs and hired a runner for each of them so we could keep more skilled labor onsite and productive.
